Description
Complete apatite crystal, reddish-brown in color, automorphic and finished with black pyroxene. the crystals are taken in a gangue of calcite of orange color, which constitutes an atypical association.
This specimen comes from Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. This region has numerous mineral showings for iron, zinc and molybdenum.
This specimen is from the mineral collection of Deyrolle, a former naturalist dealer in Paris. It comes with its original label, which dates from the 1950s/1970s.
