Description
Superb, numerous octahedral magnetite crystals on gangue from Cerro Huanaquino in Bolivia. Classic for the deposit, but remarkable for the mineral species.
Cerro Huanaquino is the eroded remnant of a dacite laccolith. The foothills feature multicoloured marls and sediments similar to the Miraflores formaton.
Several localities produce remarkable octahedral magnetite crystals.
