Description
Remarkable smoky sugar gwindel quartz crystal from Talèfre in the Mont Blanc Massif, Chamonix, Haute-Savoie, France.
A sugar quartz, called a “closed gwindel”, corresponds to the first growth phase of a gwindel. Windels are rare twisted quartz.
Sugars are particularly rare and highly sought after by Swiss and French crystal makers.
This specimen has a more than respectable height.
Ex Davide Caresio collection.
