Hessonite garnet, Eden Mills, Vermont, USA (United States).

40,00

These are two specimens of automorphic hessonite garnet crystals, brilliant, colorful and quite translucent.

Hessonite, from the Greek hêsson, inferior, because of its lesser hardness (than that of the gems it may suggest) is a yellow-orange to brown, iron-bearing variety of grossular garnet.

From Eden Mills in Vermont in the northeastern United States (USA).

Specimen from the Hubin collection in Neupré, Belgium, delivered with label.
