Description
Libethenite was mined in the 19th century in copper ore veins in Libethen (Austro-Hungarian Empire), now called Ľubietová in Slovakia.
It’s a hydrated copper phosphate (Cu2PO4(OH)), part of the olivenite group.
The specimen presented here is remarkable for the richness of its crystals for the type locality.
