Superb specimen of pink cobalt aragonite from Peramea, Spain.
The Solita mine in Peramea was a small (now abandoned) nickel and cobalt operation, best known for the cobalt-bearing calcites and aragonites extracted from it. Mineral from the Deyrolle collection, a Parisian naturalist dealer. Comes with its handwritten label and original box (19th or early 20th century). One side is sawn, the other sawn and polished.
