Description
Anhydrite crystals, light blue at the core, transparent white at the surface.
This mineral species is a calcium sulfate with the empirical formula CaSO4, but with a density of 3, higher than that of gypsum.
This mineralogical sample is from the L. Guenot collection.
It comes from mines in the Mexican state of Chihuaha, operated by the Los Penoles mining group, one of the country’s leading miners.
