This is a very beautiful, quite brilliant quartz “hedgehog”.
Some tips reach 6 cm.
A few dodecahedral pyrites are visible as inclusions.
Very airy and of good size.
A beautiful Gardette (or Japanese) mace is visible at the heart of the quartz crystal set.
Two crystals interpenetrate at 84.33° and share part of their crystal lattice.
This deposit is not far from Grenoble, and a few dozen kilometers from the La Gardette mine in Oisans, which gave its name to this famous mace, following a publication describing it in 1833.
