Description

Exceptional specimen of brilliant stibine showing a set of large intertwined crystals, with a few microquartz overlays, from a classic locality in the Massif Central that has yielded some of France’s most famous stibine specimens. This sample was included in the inventory of the Muséum national d’histoire naturelle. By 1640, the Dahu mine was already in operation. Between 1780 and 1810, regional geologists identified the main veins, and by 1850, interest in antimony was growing with the rise of the engineering industry.
