650,00

Extremely rare specimen of quartz crystals pseudomorphosed into talc (steatite variety) from the former Göpfersgrün quarry in Bavaria, Germany. An unusual specimen, as is the pseudomorphosis of quartz into talc. One of the hardest minerals (quartz; hardness 7) becomes one of the softest (talc, hardness 1). These specimens are old; this one was probably collected in the early 20th or late 19th century. It comes with its original label from the naturalist dealer Deyrolle (Paris). Rare German mineralogy to discover!
