38,00

This is a polished slice (cut from solid ore) of sphalerite, galena (schalenblende) and marcasite from the Schmalgraf mine in Belgium. A classic of European zinc mineralogy, the deposit lies between the town of Lontzen and La Calamine (in German, Kelmis). La Calamine takes its name from a zinc ore called calamine, once abundant in the subsoil and mined until the end of the XIXe century.
