Description
This sample from the Lauzière massif contains more than seven crystals of anatase. Anatase crystallizes in the tetragonal system and was discovered at the end of the 18th century by Jean-Godefroy Schreiber in the Oisans. The anatase crystals here are typical of this titanium mineral species, and of what is still found today in Savoie. The Lauzière massif lies between the Maurienne and Tarentaise valleys, separated by the Col de la Madeleine.
