Piece of vein composed of sphalerite (blende), tetrahedrite, bournonite and siderite from the La Mure mine in Isère. It’s very rare to find such rich, imposing specimens from this famous mine. Perhaps a unique specimen? The only surviving testimony to the legendary sulfide vein that produced the finest mineral associations known to man. Found around 1973, this specimen has belonged since 1975 to Philippe Glastre, the famous Grenoble crystal-maker and mineral collector, who traded it to a La Mure miner in 1975.
