Description
Zinkenite on siderite from Saint-Pons, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Copper sulfosal in groups of needles up to 1 cm long, shiny, striated and clustered in the form of sheaves in a geode of siderite rhombohedrons. The lead and copper sulfosalts of Saint-Pons, near Barcelonnette, are found in lenses of siderite contained in Callovo-Oxfordian marl. A white calcite filling fills the geodes, but is removed by dissolution with hydrochloric acid.
