Hornblende (mineral)
Specimens of hornblende, which is a generic name for several mineral species, such as edenite, ferrohornblende, hastingsite, kaersutite, magnesiohornblende, pargasite and tschermakite. Hornblende is a common amphibole in syenites and diorites. Here many pieces of collection presented with a description, one or several photos and sometimes a video. These hornblendes are for sale. It is a group of silicates, subgroup of the inosilicates, of the calcium amphibole family, with chemical formula (Ca,Na,K)2(Mg,Fe2+,Fe3+,Al)5 [Si6(Al,Si)2O22](OH,F)2 and monoclinic crystal system.
