It is a family of tectosilicates, of three minerals: Na₄(AlSi₃O₈)₃Cl marialite with sodium and chlorine, Ca₄(AlSiO₄)₆CO₃ meionite with calcium and carbonate, and Ca₄(AlSiO₄)₆SO₄ silvialite with calcium and sulfate.
