They are a family of tectosilicates, of three minerals: marialite Na₄(AlSi₃O₈)₃Cl with sodium and chlorine, meionite Ca₄(AlSiO₄)₆CO₃ with calcium and carbonate and silvialite Ca₄(AlSiO₄)₆SO₄ with calcium and sulfate.
