Set of colorless, well-formed crystals of transparent anglesite on a galena matrix.
The main, almost gemmy, perfectly terminated crystal measures 1.2 x 1.1 x 0.6 cm.
Anglesite is formed by oxidation of galena in the oxidation zone of lead deposits.
This specimen was found in the Monteponi mine in Sardinia (province of Carbonia-Iglesias), and comes from the mineral collection of the naturalist Deyrolle.
The specimen is supplied with an antique label.
