Description
Large, green apatite crystal, stony but bright, and showing a beautiful termination, mineral from the Silver Crater Mine, Faraday Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada.
This site features skarns renowned for the fluoroapatites, sometimes calcic, found there. Nevertheless, specimens of this size are uncommon.
This specimen comes from the mineral collection of Deyrolle, a former naturalist dealer in Paris. It comes with its original label, which dates from the 1950s/1970s.
