Description
Complete apatite crystal, reddish-brown in color, automorphic and finished with black pyroxene. The crystals are set in an orange-colored calcite gangue, making for an atypical association.
This mineralogical specimen comes from Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. This region is rich in iron, zinc and molybdenum deposits.
This specimen comes from the mineral collection of Deyrolle, a former naturalist dealer in Paris. It comes with its original label, which dates from the 1950s/1970s.
