Limestone consisting mainly of white oolites.
An oolite is a geological concretion of small, regular, spherical mineral structures, formed into concentric laminae by a particular sedimentation process.
The oolites are clearly visible in their white gangue. Really nice.
From Karlsbad, Germany.
From the mineralogical collection of the Bally Museum in Schönenwerd, Switzerland (19th and 20th century), and supplied with its original label.
