Description
Here’s an interesting specimen showing well-colored, gemmy and brilliant axinite crystals, proving that the mineralogy of the Pyrenees, without matching that of the Alps, produces samples that richly deserve a place in our mineral showcases. Here, axinite is associated with crystals of albite, prehnite and quartz. From Pêne Arrouye in Campan, Hautes Pyrénées. Specimen from Patrice Queneau’s mineralogical collection.
