Axinite and epidote, La Léchère, Savoie.

16,00

It’s a multi-centimetric axinite crystal that grew on a bed of epidote crystals (a mineral belonging to the silicate group). The sample was found at La Léchère, 6 km from Moutiers and some 20 km from Albertville, in the Tarentaise valley of Savoie. Few pieces have ever been extracted from this deposit, the famous “Filon Ottone”, now exhausted.
