Superb complex crystal of blue-black prismatic azurite lying on the classic carious gangue of the deposit. Brilliant crystal, absolutely intact, airy and with a very pronounced color. An exceptional specimen for the locality and for the mineral species.

Such specimens represent a new standard of quality for azurite.

The Milpillas copper mine began operations in 2006. Currently the production is about 26,000 tons of copper metal per year.
