Description

Fine green chalcomenite crystals in secondary copper ores from Musonoï, Democratic Republic of Congo. Chalcomenite belongs to the little-represented selenite subclass. It is a secondary mineral that crystallizes in the surface zone of copper and selenium deposits by oxidation of selenides. The finest specimens come from Musonoi.
