Chalcopyrite and quartz on blue fluorite, Burc mine, Le Burg, Tarn.

950,00

A surprising and aesthetic specimen, it is a truncated cube of blue fluorite, of great dimension, presenting several particularities. First of all, this large chalcopyrite crystal sitting on top of the fluorite. Perfectly implanted in the cube, it presents beautiful golden areas contrasting with the duller parts, naturally oxidized in the mineralized fissure in situ. At the foot of the chalcopyrite, a carpet of quartz micro crystals, reminiscent of a village at the foot of the mountain. Then, and most importantly, this incredible ghost of an intense icy blue, captured in a clear fluorite quite recrystallized at the back of the room. This sample comes from the mytic mine of Burc, in Burg, in the Tarn. Specimen from the mineral collection of Dr. Eric Asselborn.
