Description
Datolite, a boron-calcium silicate, is presented here in the form of shiny, translucent green crystals.
Its name comes from the Greek dateisthai, meaning “I divide”, and lithos, meaning “stone”, for its fragile behavior on impact.
A mineral from Santa Eulalia, Mexico.
Specimen from the Hubin collection in Neupré, Belgium, delivered with label.
