Emerald (Beryl), Ural, Russia.

30,00

Nice green emerald (a gemstone) crystals, sometimes gemmy, sometimes stony in a corked test tube, and coming from the Urals in Russia. About twenty crystals/chips. Sample coming from the old stock of the Royat cuttery in the Puy de Dôme (XIXth century). The label mentions “Limousin emerald”, but this is unfortunately a gross historical error. The first emeralds were discovered in 1830 in the Svredlovsk region, formerly called Ekateninburg, on the eastern side of the Urals.
