Description
Limestone consisting mainly of white oolites.
An oolite is a geological concretion of small, regular, spherical mineral structures, formed into concentric laminae by a particular sedimentation process.
The oolites are clearly visible in their brown gangue. Really nice.
From Karlsbad, Germany.
From the mineralogical collection of the Bally Museum in Schönenwerd, Switzerland (19th and 20th century), with original label and box.
