Description
A small specimen of two-tone fluorite, ranging from light blue to violet, with a “melted” appearance, to be admired in the right light. With beautiful zoning inside.
A particular area of the Boltry quarry yielded this type of specimen in the 1950s/1970s. It’s long gone.
This discovery is world-famous for the variety of colors of its fluorite masses, and the transparency of its cores, which can often be used to cut stones.
Specimen from the Boltry (Carmeuse) quarry, Seilles, Belgium.
