Description
Good-sized crystals of cubic galena from the Lompret quarry, located in the Fagne de l’Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse region, in the Eau Blanche valley not far from Chimay, Belgium.
The surface of the crystals is partially oxidized into small cerussite crystals.
The quarry exploits Frasnian limestone and shale to produce aggregates for road paving and concrete. There are Frasnian fossils, calcite, baryte and galena.
