Description
Garnet in small, bright lawn-green crystals on a piece composed mainly of crystallized diopside with a green heart.
The piece was discovered in the huge Asbestos open-pit quarry in Quebec, known as the Jeffrey Mine, which was mined for asbestos.
It’s one of the largest man-made “holes” on Earth.
This locality has produced world-famous garnets and many other beautiful mineral species.
