Description
Very large plate of bright, sometimes oxidized lamellar hematite crystals on a brown gangue.
This large specimen of hematite crystals comes from the famous Vosges deposit of Saphoz, in Faucogney, Haute-Saône department.
These mines were exploited for manganese in the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries.
