Description
Inesite is a rare pyroxenoid found in metamorphic manganese deposits. Its name comes from the ancient Greek “ines” (flesh fibers) because of its color and appearance.
These are beautiful red fibroradial crystals nicely covered with fine quartz crystals, and on large prisms of hyaline quartz. Acicular crystals of hubeite are also visible.
Inesite and hubeite from Hubei, China. Superb specimen!
