Kutnahorite and Aragonite, Valdarno, Tuscany, Italy.

30,00

Here are two samples of kutnahorite, in small rounded brown crystals associated with fine needles of translucent acicular aragonite.
Kutnahorite (or kutnohorite) is a rare carbonate that was first described in the Czech Republic at Kutna Hora by mineralogist Bukovsky A. Its color ranges from white to pink, but can also be yellow to brown.
Crystals frequently appear as rounded granular masses, sometimes fan-shaped, but rarely as clear crystals.
It is a mineral often associated with other carbonates such as dolomite or ankerite.
The two pieces correspond to the two sides of a nodule and fit together perfectly.
A specimen from Valdarno in Tuscany, Italy.
