Description
Lorenzenite is a rare sodium-titanium silicate mineral with the formula Na₂Ti₂Si₂O₉.
It is an orthorhombic mineral, occurring as colorless, gray, pinkish or brown crystals.
It was first identified in 1897 in rock samples from Narsarsuk, Greenland. This specimen features an exceptional light-brown prismatic lorenzenite crystal embedded in its matrix (crystal size: 33 x 19 mm),as well as black needle-like crystals, probably aegirine. Native to Russia’s Kola Peninsula.
