Description
Good, numerous octahedral magnetite crystals on clear gangue from Cerro Huanaquino in Bolivia. Classic for the deposit, but remarkable for the mineral species. Beautiful density of crystals.
Cerro Huanaquino is the eroded remnant of a dacite laccolith. The foothills feature multicoloured marls and sediments similar to the Miraflores formaton.
Several localities produce remarkable octahedral magnetite crystals.
