Description
Large octahedral magnetite crystals on clear gangue from Cerro Huanaquino, Bolivia. Classic for the deposit, but remarkable for the mineral species. Minor flaws.
Cerro Huanaquino is the eroded remnant of a dacite laccolith. The foothills feature multicoloured marls and sediments similar to the Miraflores formaton.
Several localities produce remarkable octahedral magnetite crystals.
