Description
This piece of pegmatite contains numerous crystals of black tourmaline, schorl variety, associated with quartz.
It comes from the Luzéronde cove on the island of Noirmoutier in the Vendée.
Tourmaline crystals are well known in this area. This sample comes from the collection of Denis Galmier, a geological engineer born around 1910, who devoted his life to the study of French metalliferous deposits. It comes with its own label.
