Automorphous, very red piedmontite crystals, associated with pink rhodonite in a white talc gangue.
Piedmontite is a pink to purplish silicate of calcium, manganese, aluminum and iron.
Specimen from the former Prabornaz mines in Italy’s Aosta Valley.
