Description

Pink fluorite and adularia crystals on granite gangue, La Verte / Charpoua, Mont-Blanc massif, Chamonix, Haute-Savoie. The granite is typically leached and demineralized. The largest pink fluorite crystal measures approx. 9 mm across the edge, and is shiny. There are 3 other small pink fluorite crystals in the plane of this one, with numerous adularia crystals, including one in the very white center, approx. 1.4 x 1.2 cm. The thickness of the gangue conceals a few tiny pink fluorite crystals. The piece contains some green chlorite. A fine, aesthetic display specimen.
