Description
The sample presented here consists of fairly stubby points, partially covered by a pyrite crust. Found in the 1910s.
The Nil Saint Vincent quarry, in Nil-Saint-Vincent-Saint-Martin, a section of the Belgian commune of Walhain in the arrondissement of Nivelles, Walloon Brabant, in Belgium, has provided some of the finest Belgian quartz. It was mined for a short period at the end of the 19th century. Crystals extracted from these quartzites could reach up to 50 cm.
Now drowned, it is very difficult to find quartz from this source.
