Description
Specimen with sub-millimeter crystals of rauenthalite, picropharmacolite and pharmacolite from the Gabe Gottes mine in Sainte-Marie aux Mines, Alsace.
The mine was first exploited in the 16th century to extract silver ores, then resumed in the 18th century and sporadically maintained until the 20th century (May 1940).
Classic mineral species of the Vosges massif, thanks to this famous deposit.
The Gabe Gottes mine is the standard locality for rauenthalite.
