Superb specimen of green to yellow mamelon smithsonite crystals, absolutely intact on gangue. Nice shine and overall presentation.

On the back of the specimen, pearly white centimetric crystals of cerussite are visible.

Smithsonite is one of the most common oxidation minerals of zinc deposits. Cerussite is the most common oxidized lead mineral and is found in the oxidation zones of lead deposits.

The Touissit deposit in eastern Morocco is a lead-zinc deposit that has yielded very good collector’s minerals.
