Description
The Longvilly (or Allerborn) mine is located in the Bastogne district of Belgium, on the border with Luxembourg.
Exploited as early as the 1820s, this lead mine, now closed, yielded numerous mineralogical species, including galena, pyromorphite, sphalerite, sulfur, marcasite, pyrite, cerussite, and more.
This sample shows small sphalerite crystals on massive gangue, with a few sections of fresh, bright galena with a metallic sheen.
