Description
These three elegant “pagoda” stolzite crystals on siliceous gangue come from the Sainte-Lucie mine in Saint-Léger-de-Peyre, Lozère. The deposit is known for its unusual mineral stolzite, a lead tungstate. At the time, the best known specimens of the species were discovered, both in terms of size – up to 7 cm – and aesthetics. This sample comes from the mineral collection of Grenoble crystal-maker Philippe Glastre, who found it in the Sainte Lucie mine in 1999, and is numbered “PG 1500”.
