Description
A lovely little specimen, showing a light yellowish-brown stolzite crystal.
An unusual mineral, stolzite is a lead tungstate.
It was discovered at the Sainte Lucie mine in St Léger de Peyre, Lozère, a deposit that has yielded the best known specimens of the species, both in size (up to 7 cm!) and aesthetics.
The specimen shown here comes with its 3.2 cm square base.
