Tetrahedrite, Kapnick (Cavnic), Romania.

240,00

Magnificent historical specimen of bright automorphic tetrahedrite crystals associated with pyrite (golden crystals), sphalerite (dull grey crystals) and quartz. Superb association typical of the deposit.

Historical mineralogical sample collected before the attachment of the city of Cavnic to Romania, when Kapnic was in Hungary (before 1918).

Tetrahedrite crystals delivered with two beautiful old handwritten labels, the first one from the L. Desbuissons collection, and the second one from the naturalist dealer Deyrolle of Paris.

Léon Desbuissons (1870-1940) was an engraver and painter from the Ecole des Beaux Art de Paris (honorable mention in 1895), he was also a geographer and cartographer.
