The Beauchaud pegmatite (sometimes spelled Biauchaud), a classic French heritage site, is located in the Montorsier mountain, in the communes of St-Pierre-la-Bourlhonne and Le Brugeron.
It contains tourmaline, quartz, beryl, garnet and muscovite.
This imposing specimen has three large black tourmaline crystals in grey quartz and white feldspar (orthoclase).
Numerous traces of orthoses, now dissolved, are visible in the quartz: interesting!
