Good green tourmaline crystals associated with large blades of mica (muscovite) from Orvault, northwest of Nantes in the Loire Atlantique department.
The deposit corresponds to a zone of highly mineralized pegmatites with large sheets of white mica, feldspar and fetid gray quartz.
In addition to tourmaline, many other minerals are present, such as apatite, chalcopyrite, torbernite, wolframite and beryl, sometimes in complex associations.
Historical specimen (19th century or earlier) delivered with old handwritten label and original box. Here is a video of this specimen:
